LOL: 5 champions inspired by other games and how they adapted to League of Legends

The champions are one of the keys to success League of Legends. Riot Games has already released more than 150 unique characters in the game and do not plan to never stop creating new heroes. An effort in which the developer has found time for all kinds of creations. All with their own inspirations and references to mythological elements, historical or belonging to other game figures.

The latter are some of the most interesting. Riot Games has tried to convey some existing classic archetypes in the world of RPG. It is no coincidence that we have a Garden as a representative of the paladins, Ashe playing the role of Frost Archer or Soraya as a healer. However, among these more abstract references, are also tributes to very specific characters that have been reinterpreted and adapted to League of Legends.

Del'kHz and The Elder Scrolls

Although not too popular, it is the most emblematic champion of one of the most interesting regions of the world Runeterra. The infinite knowledge of Del'kHz is clearly inspired by Farmers Morey, a creature in the universe of The Elder Scrolls. Both they are related both by the similarity in terms of aspects such as the history of it and desire to learn everything.

However, in a further demonstration that nothing is the original all, the creature of the universe of The Elder Scrolls also has its own references. Probably in the beholders creatures existing in the world of Dungeons and Dragons whose origin is in the literature Lovecraft. Different interpretations of the same original source with which we wanted to start to show that this

Lux and Thou Project

This is one of the most obvious references League of Legends. Lux is the tribute that Runeterra gives a Thou Project, a phenomenon in Japan that has expanded to result in music albums, novels, mangas or fighting games. Probably this is ultimately where more references, notable both phrases champion in League of Legends as some of the skills she noted.

There are two obvious examples of this inspiration. The first is in the final ability Lux, which is called Final Spark, identical to that of the most powerful blow Kirigami Marisa in Thou. Somewhat less explicit is the phrase Yo'm just an ordinary MAGA with Riot Games which refers to one of the dialogues present in the seventh installment of the Japanese game.

Hagar and Final Fantasy IX

It's probably one of the references that requires less explanation. Final Fantasy IX us not so far and is one of the installments of the saga that best resisted the passage of time and all we have left recorded in memory sensational Vivid or other black magicians. In this case, the resemblance is only, but so obvious that it is impossible to deny.

In personality is not so much like being Hagar the tiny master of evil League of Legends. However, there are points where the champion itself connects to the black magicians to last a lifetime have virtually locked according to the lore of the game, being the latter circumstance makes it a little bitter morale.

Echo and Super giant Games

This time could be a developer and not a single game in charge. Riot inspiration in Super giant Games we block for several reasons. Fits temporarily and is easy to see Echo a character that combines features of Bastion and Transistor, two great games that made the developer in one of the most prominent independent production.

They may not be the most obvious references from this list, but the fact that manipulate time and use a similar weapon to the protagonist of transistor with its moderately looks similar to the character of Bastion us suggests that artists from Riot Games wanted then reference that could well be your favorite games.

Blitz crank and Throne Trigger

To end basis, we have one of the most obvious comparisons. Blitz crank is almost identical to Robbery, one of the characters in Throne Trigger. As for appearance it is undeniable, and the gameplay also find some interesting few winks linking the automaton Faun with this classic character from one of the most successful in history RPG.

Throne Trigger robbery attacks in the arm throwing him an enemy (though without hook) and also has a definite skill that zaps all rivals battle. Both very similar to the Q ( Grasp Rocket) or R ( Static Field). One of the clearest examples of how Riot Games has been fueled by some major figures to create the characters in League of Legends.
